PSG and Newcastle Tussle to Hijack Milan Target Botman

Long-time Milan target Sven Botman has been one of the most talked-about defenders in the world the past season, having helped Lille secure an unprecedented Ligue 1 title in 2020/21, and PSG have started eyeing him too. The Dutch center-back has garnered attention from fellow French counterparts and current champions as they seek to bolster their backline.

According to L’Equipe, new PSG sporting director Luis Ocampos is ready to move for Botman as an alternative to their main target Milan Skriniar, whom Inter have high demands for. However, the Parisians are not the biggest threat to the Rossoneri’s hopes of bringing in the Ajax youth product in the summer.

It is Newcastle United which are touted to be the frontrunners for his signature, as the Magpies seek to take full advantage of Milan’s stalled talks with the defender’s entourage. The Premier League club wants to sign the stopper as soon as possible, and negotiations are reportedly at an advanced stage.

Botman is also interested in experiencing English football at such an early stage in his career, but where he ends up remains to be seen, with both PSG and Milan being two of the world’s most alluring clubs. The Rossoneri have Inter-linked Bremer high on their wishlist as an alternative.
