PSG, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Pursuing Inter Star on Expiring Deal

Inter have wrapped up the talks for a new contract with Lautaro Martinez and are about to do the same with Nicolò Barella. Instead, the executives will have their work cut out for them to come to terms with Marcelo Brozovic. The midfielder has remained a linchpin of the formation with Simone Inzaghi at the helm. But the fact that his current deal expires in June 2022 gives him a lot of leverage.

Directors Piero Ausilio and Giuseppe Marotta reiterated on a few occasions that they want to keep him long-term. But the negotiation has not progressed much in recent weeks. Inter and the entourage of the player are poised for a pivotal meeting during the third international break, Sky Sport reports.

Brozovic asked for a €6M wages and four-year deal, while Inter offered €5M for three years. The Croatian international has been coy in public about the matter. He did not openly commit to the Nerazzurri, differently from what other contributors did in the same situation. The outlet adds that the negotiation has gotten very complicated at this point. On the other hand, the talks with Martinez were equally challenging, but the management succeeded in their intent.

The 28-year-old has been linked to Milan and Tottenham, but it is improbable that he will join the Rossoneri. According to Calciomercato.com, PSG and Bayern are the clubs that have been pursuing him the hardest, proposing sizable sums. Inter will look to bridge the gap after the Derby to avoid unpleasant surprises in January.
