PSG Duo Lands in Italy to Finalize Transfers to Roma

Roma took advantage of the talks with PSG for Leandro Paredes to reignite the negotiation for Renato Sanches and sealed the deal in both instances. The two midfielders have reached the Italian capital to complete their moves, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Giallorossi had to scramble for a replacement once Nemanja Matic asked out. They officialized his transfer to Rennes Monday night. They are bringing back a familiar face. The Argentine starred for them in two separate seasons in the past. In addition, they landed a long-time target.

Paredes will join on a permanent deal for €2.5M, while Renato Sanches is transferring on a €1M loan with a €15M conditioned obligation to buy. The former will sign a two-year contract with an automatic option to prolong it should he play in half of the matches in 2024/2025. PSG will be entitled to 30 percent of a future sale.

The capital club will have to redeem the Portuguese if he features in 60 percent of the games in the upcoming season, Calciomercato informs. He finally transfers to Italy after the Giallorossi and Milan chased him in previous windows.

Our Take on Roma Signing Paredes and Renato Sanches

Their patience for the latter was rewarded. The terms are fine and protect them in case of injury. Still, Matic was a sneaky big loss, and their newcomers have different traits. They shouldn’t be done adding.
