PSG Expected to Be in the Mix for Napoli Star Osimhen

With Kylian Mbappé likely headed to Real Madrid, PSG are keeping an eye on Serie A to find replacements and, on top of Rafael Leao, Victor Osimhen has also made their shortlist. He’s easier to sign than the Milan star, who quickly dismissed the recent chatter, and heavily hinted that he would flee.

According to The Telegraph and Calciomercato, the Nigerian star is among the players the French powerhouse is monitoring if their star did leave. Moreover, their current strikers have failed to live up to expectations.

PSG were mentioned by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis when he commented on the teasing words by Osimhen. The patron indicated them as one of the few teams that could afford him. He also named Real Madrid and the Premier League giants.

The center-forward has a €120/130M release clause in his new contract, which nets him €10M per season. Instead, the one of the Milan superstar is higher, €175M, but he has more affordable wages.

Our Take on PSG and Osimhen

It’s dispiriting that Napoli are back to square one despite the never-ending talks for an extension. He could actually still be a target if Mbappé stayed, while Leao would make less sense in that event.

They were ages ago, but Napoli already concocted two major sales with the Ligue 1 champions, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi. Moreover, it’s not a lock he’ll necessarily leave through the activation of the release clause.
