PSG Initiated Contact With Lazio Over Joaquin Correa

Paris Saint-Germain have approached Lazio to ask about the availability of lightning-quick forward Joaquin Correa amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Moise Kean and Mauro Icardi. According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Ligue 1 heavyweights have enquired about the Argentina international to reinforce their attacking department.

Kean, who arrived from Everton on a season-long loan, enjoyed a decent season at the Parc des Princes, notching up 19 goals in 45 appearances. However, the Italian youngster is on the verge of returning to Goodison Park as the clubs failed to reach an agreement over a permanent move.

Moreover, Icardi could also be on the move when the transfer window reopens for business, with several Serie A sides credited with an interest. Milan and Juventus are both on the lookout for a new forward and have turned their attention towards the former Inter marksman.

After losing the title race to Lille in his first half-season of charge, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to overhaul his squad and has laid his eyes on Correa. Technically gifted and with a keen eye for goals, the 26-year-old has been nothing short of outstanding since moving to the Stadio Olimpico in 2018.

Correa has forged a formidable attacking partnership with Ciro Immobile that formed a backbone of Lazio’s recent domestic success. Well aware of the Argentine’s importance to the team, the Biancocelesti have pinned a sizeable €40million price tag on the forward’s head.

Correa’s representative is Alessandro Lucci. The same agent facilitated Alessandro Florenzi’s loan move to Paris last summer. PSG will rely on their strong relationship with the Italian agent to help them get the deal for the ex-Sevilla man this time around.
