PSG have the extended the contract of Keylor Navas and therefore are no longer in the running for the services of Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 34-year-old goalkeeper has penned a three-year renewal that will tie him to the club until 2024. President Nasser Al-Khelaifi commented: “He is the best goalkeeper in the world. He inspires great confidence, and our fans love him. He will be a deciding player in the upcoming challenges and for years to come.”

The French side was previously linked to Donnarumma, whose contract expires in June. At the moment, only Juventus are challenging Milan. The Rossoneri have proposed €8M wages, while the Old Lady are offering two more, but still short of what his agent Mino Raiola is asking, SportMediaset reports. The race could be decided by which of the two clubs qualifies for Champions League. According to Gianluca di Marzio, Milan agreed to insert a €30/35M release clause in the new, but the talks have not progressed in weeks because he has not lowered his request.

Over the weekend, the German publication Sport1 informed that Milan agreed to a long-term contract with Lille’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who is also a target for Borussia Dortmund. The fee to acquire him will be around €15. He has kept 18 clean sheets in 34 Ligue 1 matches this year.

Milan director Frederic Massara addressed the rumor to Sky before the Lazio game: “Our position is unchanged, we have complete trust in Gigio, and we hope to come to terms with him. We are vigilant on every role in the transfer market, but at this stage, we do not intend to chase after other goalkeepers. We are focused on the negotiation to renew the contract of Donnarumma, and we are confident.”
