PSG Ready to Sell Mauro Icardi Amid Growing Serie A Links

Mauro Icardi’s representatives are working around the clock to broker the Argentine a summer exit from Paris Saint-Germain. According to the Daily Mail, the former Inter Milan star has grown unhappy with his current situation in France and is looking to move on at the end of the season.

Icardi has dealt several injury setbacks this season accompanied by a positive COVID-19 test, losing his starting berth at the Parc des Princes to Moise Kean. Having suffered a dip in form, the 28-year-old could be available for transfer in the summer.

Additionally, the Argentina international fell victim to robbery back in January when he saw £350,000 worth of items stolen while away with the Parisians.

PSG are reportedly looking to recoup the €50million they dished out to buy the striker outright less than a year ago.

Widely regarded as one of the best, albeit most unpredictable forwards of his generation, Icardi has a host of suitors across Europe’s top-five leagues.

AC Milan, Juventus, and Roma are all assessing the prospect of bringing the ex-Sampdoria man back to Serie A. However, Icardi’s whopping €10m annual wages could blow the Italian teams out of the water.

Although a switch to the Premier League seems like a more likely option at this point, the player is eager to return to the Apennines, where he spent the best time of his career.

Indeed, Icardi had racked up a resounding 124 goals in 219 appearances during his stint at the Giuseppe Meazza before departing for Paris.

Despite the financial collapse caused by the coronavirus crisis, there is still a glimmer of hope that one of the most prolific strikers in modern Serie A history could get another shot in Italy’s top-flight.
