PSG Short of Sassuolo Demand Despite New Talks for Scamacca

Former Inter target Gianluca Scamacca is inching closer to PSG after the French champions accelerated the negotiation to sign him from Sassuolo. The appointment of new sporting director Luis Campos has shifted the Parisians’ attention to Serie A, as they work on a number of targets, including Milan Skriniar.

On the Scamacca front, PSG wish to onboard him as a direct understudy to star Kylian Mbappé. However, both parties have hit a snag in terms of the player’s valuation. The Neroverdi demand €50M for their star striker, but the latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Foot Mercato) indicate that PSG are still €5-10M short of the asking price.

It is rumored that a tag of €45M, including bonuses, might be agreed upon in the end. As Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali confirmed recently, there have been no advances from any Serie A club for Scamacca in recent weeks since the end of the season, with Inter’s inactive stance a bit of a surprise after being heavily linked with him throughout last season. Atletico Madrid are another suitor in the fray for the 23-year-old Roma and Lazio youth product.

The Ligue 1 side is also eyeing Andrea Pinamonti as a cheaper alternative.
