PSV Make Inquiry About Milan Flop

PSV Eindhoven have placed watchful eyes on Milan flop Charles De Ketelaere amid Aston Villa’s growing interest. According to Eindhovens Dagblad (via Francesco Nasato), the Eredivisie colossi have inquired about the Belgian’s situation at San Siro.

De Ketelaere’s first-team prospects at Milan are seemingly dead in the water. After splashing out around €35 million to lure him away from Club Brugge last summer, the Rossoneri have had high expectations for the 22-year-old playmaker.

Little did they know, De Ketelaere would only manage one assist in 40 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s side in his first season in Italy. And it’s not just about his output. The youngster’s overall performances have flattered to deceive more often their not.

As such, Milan cannot wait to get rid of his services. But given De Ketelaere’s high price tag, offloading him on a permanent basis this summer could prove easier said than done.

Villa’s interest in the versatile forward is probably the Italians’ best hope of recouping the figure they flushed down the sink last summer. Unai Emery’s men could flex their financial muscle to sign De Ketelaere outright.

However, if negotiations fall through, PSV could provide a backup option. The Dutch heavyweights are ready to give the left-footed starlet the benefit of the doubt. Yet, they’d only be willing to take him on loan.

Milan may not mind letting their outcast leave temporarily as long as PSV accept to pay his wages in total.
