Qatari Outfit Table Bumper Offer for Lazio’s Alberto

Lazio midfield ace Luis Alberto could leave the club in a sensational move to Qatar. The Spanish midfielder was earlier reported to be unhappy with his wages, as he demands a pay rise equivalent to he top earner of the team, Sergej Milinkoic-Savic. However, even with te ongoing contract negotiation to extend his stay, surprise suitors have emerged from a continent away.

As per Il Messaggero (via Calciomercato), a five-year offer worth €40M net has arrived from Qatari outfit Al-Duhail. With his current contract expiring in 2025, Alberto is currently pondering his future, and the lucrative offer could be hard to turn down. There has reportedly been direct contact between the two clubs for Alberto’s signature, but Claudio Lotito and Maurizio Sarri will not back down easily.

Lazio want atleast €20M for Alberto, with Al-Duhail tabling an initial offer of €15M, which has already been rejected.

Sarri has established his team around the Sevilla youth product’s presence, and losing him would be a huge blow to the team’s plans ahead of a crucial upcoming season in Europe.
