A stand-off between Serie A juggernauts Juventus and France international Adrien Rabiot has seemingly reached the point of no return. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 29-year-old has yet to respond to the club’s new contract proposal, increasing the likelihood of a definite breakup.
Rabiot’s contract at the Allianz Stadium expired at the end of June. Juventus had offered their standout midfielder a two-year deal worth €7.5m plus bonuses per season before his trip to Germany for EURO 2024. That’s roughly the identical figure he had been earning.
Though Rabiot promised to give Juventus an answer before departing for the tournament, he failed to live up to his word. With France already out of the Euro finals, the record-time Italian champions were on their toes, expecting the former Paris Saint-Germain playmaker’s reply.
However, Rabiot is still nowhere to be seen. Juventus have already signed the likes of Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram. In addition, Cristiano Giuntoli is still lurking around Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners. As such, Thiago Motta’s men seem well-prepared for life after the Frenchman.
It looks like Rabiot has no intention of returning to Juventus. He and his mother-agent, Veronique, are in touch with other clubs. Milan and Inter could be his best chance of staying in Serie A. But there’s a feeling he’ll depart Italy this summer.
Turkish giants Galatasaray are ready to offer Rabiot a lucrative contract in Istanbul. Given his well-documented thirst for money, it won’t be surprising if he swaps Juventus for the Super Lig.
