Benitez Believes Inter and Juventus Are Superior to Milan

Ex-Inter and Napoli coach Rafael Benitez believes Scudetto contenders will find it hard to usurp the Milan duo, with the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri claiming each of the last two league titles. The Spaniard also thinks it would be half-witted to not consider the other big teams in the run for the championship, especially Juventus.

Benitez spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tuttomercatoweb) in an exclusive interview and let his thoughts loose on the race for the 2022/23 Scudetto title.

“Inter and Juventus, they are in the front row. Milan are solid, it is impossible not to consider the champions, but the other two are superior at the moment. I appreciate the arrivals of Juve. Angel Di Maria and Gleison Bremer will make the difference.”

The former Liverpool manager thinks two other dark horses must also be considered.

“Roma are so beautiful with the new additions. They have lots of quality. I believe José Mourinho has the pleasant obligation to fight for the title. I think they’re forced now, in the best possible way, to compete for the ultimate victory. Keep an eye on Napoli too.”

The 2022/23 Serie A season is almost upon us, as Milan vs Udinese and Sampdoria vs Atalanta kick off as the first two matches of the new campaign.
