Real Betis Exec Nudges Spanish Fullback Toward Milan

Real Betis director José Miguel Lopez Catalan has admitted that Juan Miranda will probably head elsewhere, as Milan are making strides to sign him in a Bosman move. They will attempt to strike a deal to acquire him in January already. He talked with Canal Sur (via SportMediaset).

“We have made some proposals to extend his contract. However, for some reasons, sporting or economical, we haven’t been able to reach an agreement. He’s obviously attracting suitors.”

“Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and other Spanish clubs have been rumored. Anything can happen. We could come to terms and extend for many years, or he could receive a huge offer. It would be fair for him to accept a salary that could be twice or thrice what he makes here, but we don’t know yet.”

According to the Italian publication, Milan have established a €2M budget to add Miranda in January to help out with their injury crisis. However, they are fine with waiting till the end of the season.

Lopez Catalan continued.

“Our relationship with his family and agent is very good and not tense. The problem isn’t just the signing bonus, but rather the wages. Since they wouldn’t need to pay a fee, other sides teams offer him a lot more. We can’t get to certain numbers.”

Our Take on Milan and Miranda

The Rossoneri shouldn’t mess about and buy him right away rather than waste time after more complicated solutions.
