Real Madrid Poised to Defeat Juventus in Rudiger Race

Juventus pursued Antonio Rudiger in previous months, but they will most likely have to look elsewhere to bolster their defense, as he is on the brink of coming to terms with Real Madrid. Things escalated quickly between the parties after the entourage of the defender reached out to Los Galacticos last week.

According to Marca, the Spanish team will give the newcomer a four-year contract. After early reservations about his requests, Los Merengues decided to do the deal since they lack depth and experience at the position. Chelsea manager Tomas Tuchel confirmed that the veteran would leave Chelsea. He initially waited for his current club. However, it is unclear when their ownership situation will be sorted. PSG and Barcelona were also after him.

Rudiger lowered his demands, as he will earn €10M per season at Real Madrid, while Juventus offered €7M at most, Calciomercato reports. His agents will cash in a wealthy commission. There is major optimism that a complete agreement will be reached very soon, Gianluca Di Marzio confirms. Although, the official announcement could come only at the end of the season.

The Bianconeri will continue to be in the market for a defender. Giorgio Chiellini will either move to the MLS or retire in the summer, Fabrizio Romano informs. They have acquired Federico Gatti from Frosinone in January. However, they will probably add a more established contributor as well. They reportedly touched base with the agents of Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile last week. In particular, they will look for a left-footed center-back.
