Real Madrid Set Asking Price for Milan-Linked Midfielder

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who recently was victim of a nasty ankle injury in Spain’s clash against Egypt at the 2020 Olympics, has been marked with an asking price by the Spanish giants.

Milan have been on the lookout for a playmaker to take up the role of Hakan Calhanoglu, who parted ways with the Rossoneri for a deal with Inter. Brahim Diaz has already arrived at Milan but he may not be the only signing from Madrid.

According to reports from ABC (via Sportsmole), Los Blancos have set a €40M valuation for the 24-year-old Ceballos. He has a market value of €27M, according to Transfermarkt, but nothing less than €40M will entice Madrid.

The creative midfielder spent the last two seasons on-loan at Arsenal, garnering 77 appearances and scoring 2 goals for the Gunners. The Premier League club however, opted against signing Ceballos on a permanent deal.

Italian reporter Giacomo Iacobellis, who works at Spanish newspaper Sport, recently commented on Milan’s transfer goals this summer ahead of the new season. Speaking to MilanNews.it, he said: “Dani Ceballos is a player that Maldini likes very much. The relations between Milan and Real are excellent, they have talked about him many times. Today, however, the player wants to convince Ancelotti.”

Ceballos is reported to not have been included in Ancelotti’s 2021/22 season plans and a loan move, similar to Diaz could materialize. Milan are also linked with Isco, who has experienced a dip in playing time and form in recent seasons under Zidane.
