REVEALED: Chiesa Rejected Premier League Deal to Force Juventus Move

EURO 2020 star Federico Chiesa has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest prospects in recent years since first appearing on the football scene with Fiorentina in 2016. The 24-year-old forward signed a two-year loan deal with Juventus in October 2020, with a permanent deal incoming next summer.

Be that as it may, a surprising revelation has surfaced regarding the Bianconeri man’s stance on a possible move away from Italy before he moved to Turin.

According to reports from director of TUTTOmercatoweb Radio and transfer expert Niccolo Ceccarini (via The Sun), Chiesa rejected a move to England with Premier League giants Liverpool for a sum of €70m to force a move to Juventus.

Speaking to Italian channel RTV38, Ceccarini said: “Fiorentina had reached an agreement with Liverpool for €70m, but the negotiations did not go through due to the boy’s desire to go to Juventus.”

Chiesa has appeared 59 times for the Bianconeri since his move from Florence, scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists in the process.

As an integral member of Max Allegri’s side, Chiesa will soon be signing a permanent deal with the Old Lady for a transfer fee of €40m, plus €10m in variables.
