Rick Karsdorp’s Agent Hits Back at Mourinho and Roma

Jose Mourinho had some crisp comments to make in the aftermath of the 1-1 draw against Sassuolo, as Roma failed to close to gap with Juventus and Milan in the top four. The Special One, according to Italian media such as Sky, pointed out a finger at Dutch fullback Rick Karsdorp – citing that he betrayed his teammates with unprofessional behavior during the clash.

Karsdorp’s agent John Henkes has now lashed back out at Mourinho and Roma regarding the treatment of his client. In a talk with Dutch broadcaster NOS (via Reuters), Henkes expressed his surprise at the Roma trainer’s comments.

“We are surprised at Mourinho’s statements, which point to Rick, without Mourinho or AS Roma mentioning Rick’s name. We want an explanation from the club about the trainer’s words and how he did it. That’s not how you treat a player who has been playing for AS Roma for five years.”

Roma will look to bounce back against Torino next, but it is unlikely Karsdorp will start the match. His mistake on the left wing that eventually led to the Neroverdi drawing first blood via Andrea Pinamonti is likely to cost him a place in the starting eleven.
