Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso gave geopolitical meaning to the Scudetto (via Sportface).
“I’m happy for Napoli. Thank you Aurelio for bringing the title to the South of Italy. I’m happy for you since you endured a lot of sacrifices in the last few years while fighting against the opponents and also unfair criticism.”
Monza president Silvio Berlusconi, who’s still hospitalized as he battles leukemia, although he’s reportedly doing much better, was warmer (via TgCom24).
“The whole city is partying, and it’s well-deserved. It’s incredible and engulfs us all in its joy. Forza Napoli, kudos to them, and let’s go. This must be the start of a great series of victories. The Neapolitans truly deserve it. Evviva! I say it wholeheartedly, as I always considered myself a Neapolitan that was born in Milan.”
Other than in Naples, spontaneous celebrations broke out also in the streets of Milan and Rome, Il Messaggero informs.
