River Plate Starlet’s Agent Drops Hint at Possible Transfer to Milan Giants

Inter and Milan have both set their sights on one River Plate starlet, who recently put up a spectacular performance against Boca Juniors in the Superclasico. The young Argentine bagged a first half brace in a 2-1 scoreline, turning heads an ocean away.

Several clubs such as Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax and Dortmund, among others, are said to be interested in the Copa America winner, according to Calciomercato.com.

With his contract expiring in December 2022, his agent Fernando Hidalgo has spoken about his client’s future – dropping hints at a potential move in the immediate future.

Speaking to FCInterNews in an exclusive interview, when quizzed about both the Milan giants’ interest, he said: “I don’t know, neither of them called me.”

However, when asked if he would particularly be ready for a club like Inter, which has a rich history of Argentinean links, he explained: “All European clubs go to Brazil and invest in very young players without asking if they are ready or not. Here in Argentina, on the other hand, they think they are not ready, they ask many questions and make offers for the percentage of the card.

So when they make the decision to bet on Alvarez it may be late or they will pay him twice as much money as they would have paid him a year earlier. Alvarez already has two years in the first division with River Plate, which is a big club, where you live the pressure. That’s why”

Thee 21-year-old has a release clause of €25m, but Hidalgo deferred from any financial talks, citing that the club has the ultimate say in setting a price.

“It’s a matter to be discussed with the club, it’s not me who has to make the price, it’s up to the club. We will make a good negotiation, if an important offer arrives, otherwise he is happy to stay at the River.”

He finally drew comparison with Inter’s former star marksman Diego Milito and a possible duo with fellow Argentine sensation Lautaro Martinez at Inter.

Each player has his own characteristics. Julian like Diego has an excellent ball possession, he is technical, with good feet. He can play from first or second point, but also outside the area.

I don’t advertise Inter, he would be fine with Ibrahimovic, Lautaro or some champions in England. The important thing is that a serious club arrives.”
