Roma About to Acquire Another Leeds United Defender

Roma haven’t shipped off one of their current right wingbacks, Rick Karsdorp or Zeki Celik, but they are likely to complete the signing of Rasmus Kristensen regardless. His arrival is considered a matter of days, if not hours, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Dane has a clause that allows him to depart on a simple loan because of his side’s relegation. He’s expected to reach the Italian capital by the end of the week. He posted 3 goals in 26 appearances in his lone season in the Premier League.

Roma intend to focus on the midfield after sealing the deal for Kristensen. Daichi Kamada would be an easy target, as he’s a free agent, but their front office prefers different types of players.

Marcel Sabitzer is top of the list, although Bayern Munich would like to sell him permanently rather than let him go on loan again. He starred for Manchester United last season. The Giallorossi could convince the counterparty by inserting a conditioned obligation to buy. Renato Sanches is the fallback.

Our Take on Kristensen to Roma and Their Midfield

It’s a nice little addition that doesn’t hurt their budget and should upgrade over their current options. They are right to target a physical box-to-box, but they’ll need some luck to find a good one on a shoestring.
