Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini has praised Jose Mourinho for instilling a winning mentality within the squad. The Special One arrived last season and led the Giallorossi to their first major European title win with the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Speaking to Four Four Two (via VoceGiallorossa) in an exclusive interview, Pellegrini disclosed how important Mourinho has been to keeping the team together.
“He is a coach who wrote the history of football, he transformed this sport and still does everything to keep winning. It’s something he instills in us every day. With Mourinho here for a year and a half, I’ve had new sensations. He manages to infuse you with emotions to convey on the pitch.”
Pellegrini has shone on the pitch under the new manager, registering 18 goals in 59 appearances since the start of the 2021/22 season. Mourinho has managed 76 games for the Giallorossi so far, attaining an impressive win rate of 52.63% so far.
