Roma and Inter Target Admits to Facing an Uncertain Future

German center-back Matthias Ginter has come forward with interesting comments regarding his future as he prepares to leave Borussia Monchengladbach after a five-season stay. The ex-Borussia Dortmund stopper has made it clear that he wants to move in the summer after his five-year contract expires on June 30.

Having been regularly pursued by Serie A giants Inter, Roma, Juventus and Premier League outfits Aston Villa and Newcastle United, Ginter revealed what he will look for in his next club in order to make it a fruitful stay.

Speaking to German broadcaster Sport1, he said: “I will make technical evaluations but not only that. The environment is very important to me, and here at Borussia it has always been familiar. Then of course I will also look at the ambitions of the club, I will have to choose the project that fits perfectly for me. It will also be important to please the coach.”

The 28-year-old also stated that it is difficult to establish a timeline to make his decision

“It’s difficult to come up with a timeline, but I don’t think it will be too long before there’s anything to announce. But whether it will ultimately be in one, two or three weeks – I have no idea,” he said.

Ginter has long been on the sights of the Nerazzurri, but one cannot definitely exclude the presence of other heavyweights in the race for his signature, with Roma coach Jose Mourinho already making first contact with the German a couple of months ago.

He has 11 goals in 178 appearances for Monchengladbach.
