Roma and Milan Set to Miss Out on Two Attacking Targets

Roma and Milan were linked to Yankuba Minteh and Ermedin Demirovic respectively in the last few weeks, but they’ll have to look elsewhere to fortify their frontlines. The former has officially joined Brighton. Instead, the Bosnian attacker is close to Stuttgart, Gianluca Di Marzio announced.

The Seagulls will pay nearly €40M to sign the youngster from Newcastle United. He played on loan at Feyenoord in the past campaign, tallying 11 goals and 6 assists. The Giallorossi aimed to get him through Everton, which should soon be acquired by their owner Dan Friedkin. However, the Magpies were in a rush to sell. Olympique Lyon were beaten as the talent wanted to play in the Premier League.

Roma never seemed too close to Minteh and will switch their attention toward Federico Chiesa and Rodrigo Riquelme, although they are quite pricey, while Milan shortlisted Demirovic at some point but didn’t push the envelope to acquire him. They keep prioritizing Joshua Zirkzee, plus the 26-year-old isn’t a pure no.9.

He logged 15 goals and 10 assists last season. He has agreed to personal terms with his prospective new team. If things go as expected, he’ll contribute to replacing Serhou Guirassy, a former Rossoneri target as well, who’ll join Borussia Dortmund, which activated his €17.5M release clause, Fabrizio Romano reports. Stuttgart qualified for the 2024/2025 Champions League.

Per Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg (via Bulinews), the two sides are still haggling over the fee, as Augsburg demand €20M to sell.

  1. Try to get a good deal with Juventus, get Chiesa plus Soule and focus on Piamonti & Bellanova if the price and salary is right.

For the rest then a left back as Valentin Gendrey and use Zalewski in a trade with Bellanova to reduce the price.
