Roma Anxiously Waiting for Paulo Dybala Test Results

Jose Mourinho has delivered an ominous update on Paulo Dybala’s injury after the Roma superstar hobbled off the pitch against Cagliari. Giallorossi dismantled the Islanders 4-1 on the road, but the diminutive forward’s latest fitness setback overshadowed another dominant win.

Inspired by Romelu Lukaku’s match-winning performance, Roma put Claudio Ranieri’s underachievers to the sword in their backyard. It would’ve been an idyllic night for Mourinho if only Dybala could’ve avoided sustaining another injury. The Argentine cannot catch a break.

When it looked like he left an injury-riddled start to the season behind him, Dybala succumbed to a new physical problem. The early prognoses aren’t promising. The 29-year-old Roma frontman has injured his left knee and could face another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

There’s no doubt he’ll miss out on the international break. But Mourinho fears Roma may have to wait well beyond October to welcome their talismanic forward back to the fold. He admitted he had already spoken to Dybala. And it seems the ex-Juventus man has shattered his manager’s confidence.

No optimism,” the Roma boss said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb. “I always trust the players a lot. When they are not optimistic, I am not optimistic. Obviously, we have to wait for the results of the exams tomorrow, but I trust the players’ experience and how they feel about their bodies.

Roma return to action on October 22 with a home clash against Monza. But as it stands, Dybala won’t be there.
