Roma Boss Daniele De Rossi Earmarks Two Cost-Effective Signings

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi has a clear vision for next season, as he wants to see Alvaro Morata and Raoul Bellanova in his dressing room in 2024/25. As per TMW, the former Giallorossi midfielder has requested the club’s management to prioritize their signings in the upcoming transfer window.

De Rossi replaced Mourinho as the Roma manager last January and turned the club’s fortunes around in the second half of the season. Despite failing to secure Champions League football, the Italian is keen to revamp his squad this summer.

Last summer, Roma completed a bunch of loan deals. Romelu Lukaku, Sardar Azmoun, Diego Llorente, Renato Sanches, and Rasmus Kristensen all joined the club only temporarily, and none, barring the Spanish defender, will stay in the capital.

In addition to the four abovementioned exits, Roma could soon part with Leonardo Spinazzola and Rui Patricio. The duo will be out of contract next month, with the Giallorossi reluctant to offer them fresh terms. Once all the outgoings are settled, De Rossi will turn to incoming deals.

Morata could be Lukaku’s heir after admitting he’s no longer happy at Atletico Madrid. The ex-Juventus will be available at a reasonable price this summer, and Roma might swoop in and take him back to Serie A. Federico Chiesa is another name on De Rossi’s shortlist.

However, Roma would probably have to beat Napoli to the wantaway Juventus ace’s signature. Competition for Bellanova’s services is equally fierce, with Torino reportedly slapping a €20-25m price tag on their prized asset’s head in anticipation of a bidding war.
