Roma Contemplating Summer Bid for Sassuolo Forward

Serie A side Roma will, in all likelihood, overhaul their attacking options in the summer transfer window. Andrea Pinamonti of Sassuolo has emerged as the latest target for the Giallorossi, as per Calciomercato.

Despite Romelu Lukaku’s decent season-long spell at the Stadio Olimpico, he’s heading back to Chelsea. Strapped for cash, Roma couldn’t take up the buyout option. On a more ominous note, headline performer Paulo Dybala could also leave the capital.

New Serie A champions Inter have reportedly rekindled their interest in the Roma talisman. With the Nerazzurri lurking in the shadows and Tammy Abraham’s future in doubt following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Daniele De Rossi could find himself strapped for attacking options.

Andrea Belotti will return to base after a six-month loan at Fiorentina, but he’s no longer a valid alternative. With that in mind, Roma have cast a wide net in their search for a new out-and-out striker. Atletico Madrid’s misfit Alvaro Morata could be a viable solution.

However, Roma would have to beat Juventus to the Spaniard’s signature. On the other hand, a path leading to Pinamonti could be wide open. Sassuolo will reluctantly sell the 25-year-old after failing to keep hold of their Serie A status in 2023/24.

Roma could look to take advantage of Sassuolo’s misery to take the ex-Inter youngster to the capital on favorable terms. Pinamonti had a solid season last term, netting 11 goals and providing two assists in 38 league matches.
