Roma Earmark Atletico Madrid and Braga Center-Forwards

Roma have opened their search for a new striker and have listed Samu Omorodion and Simon Banza. The former is their top choice at the moment, although he’s very pricey and hasn’t completely opened to the destination for now. He wants to assess his chances of featuring regularly at Atletico Madrid first, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The youngster played at Alaves on loan last season, scoring nine goals. Los Colchoneros are seeking a new forward, but Alvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann aren’t sure to stay. Napoli are also interested.

However, Roma would have to disburse €40M if Atletico Madrid made Omorodion available, while their other targets, starting with Banza, would be less expensive. He’s represented by Fali Ramadani. The recent conversations with the agent went beyond Federico Chiesa, Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via OneFootball).

The 27-year-old tallied 23 goals and 5 assists in 41 matches with Braga last season. New official Florent Ghisolfi had him at Lens in the past.

Ramadani also proposed Ivan Fresneda, who struggled to settle in at Sporting CP, and Jeremie Boga. The exec signed the winger from Atalanta for €17M last year. He has scored 5 times and dished 6 helpers in 2023/2024.

Our Take on Roma, Omorodion, and Banza

It’s interesting that they are already looking for a no.9 while there’s seemingly nothing in the works concerning Tammy Abraham, whose departure would fetch a decent buck, although not as much as in the past. They’ll probably roll the dice with a prospect if the Englishman stays put.
