Roma Set Sights on Pair of Talented Serie A Goalkeepers

With the next season already in mind, Roma are pondering goalkeeping reinforcements to arrive at the Stadio Olimpico come summer. Rui Patricio’s contract at the club expires in 2024, and there is no certainty whether the Portuguese shotstopper will stay with the Giallorossi from 2023/24 onwards.

Il Messaggero (via VoceGiallorossa) reports of sporting director Tiago Pinto’s interest in two other Serie A goalkeepers who could arrive in the summer transfer window. Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario is of interest to the Giallorossi management, who are also aware of Juventus’ keenness in his services. Atalanta loanee at Cremonese, Marco Carnesecchi, is another contender shortlisted by the capital club.

Both goalkeepers are being kept on close tabs by Roma, who will evaluate in the coming months whether or not to sign them. Meanwhile, 35-year-old Patricio is backed by youngsters Mile Svilar and Pietro Boer, but Roma understandably want someone with experience to take over the role.
