Roma First in Line for Torino Star Facing Major Decision This Summer

After the successful Euro, albeit in a limited role, it will be a pivotal summer for Andrea Belotti. He has just a year left on his contract with Torino, and the negotiation has been challenging. He has to decide between staying and extending it or pushing to leave. Among Serie A clubs, Roma showed the most interest in signing him thus far, Sky informs.

New Torino coach Ivan Juric talked him up in his introductory presser: “He is a top player, I like his style a lot, but he was not his usual self last season. I do not know why; this is what seemed to me watching from the outside. He is the captain, and it is up to him to make the call. If he wants, he can continue to be our leader.”

President Urbano Cairo wishes the striker to stay, but only for the right reasons: “I want him to be motivated and to fully buy him in this new project.” Belotti has scored 13 goals in the 35 appearances in the past campaign. He has been at Torino since 2015 and has amassed 105 goals in 228 matches.

While the Granata rejected lucrative bids in the past, his price tag has dipped significantly. Roma are keen on him and have placed a €15/18M offer, while Torino want €30M. José Mourinho refused to provide a clear answer when asked about the future of Edin Dzeko, who has a massive salary. Belotti was timidly linked to Milan early in the off-season, but the Rossoneri are closing in on Olivier Giroud.
