Roma Focusing on Three Targets to Shore Up Roster

Roma have zeroed in on three players, Lorenz Assignon, Matias Soulé, and Youssef En-Nesyri to fortify their squad at every level and are stepping up their efforts to acquire them. The first two aren’t easy to sign given their valuations. However, they are both very keen on joining, Gianluca Di Marzio relays.

The defender has an offer from Burnley, where he spent the last six months on loan. Though, he would rather not play in the Championship. Instead, the Juventus talent is being chased by Leicester City. They have offered a lot more than the Giallorossi, La Repubblica reports. If it were just up to him, he’d stay in Italy, but his team wants to cash in fully. Neither side has matched the Old Lady’s €35/40M request. The capital club has tendered about €20/25M, the same fee they had in mind for Federico Chiesa.

Roma will get a boost in their chases of Assignon, Soulé, and En-Nesyri from the sale of Houssem Aouar. He will head to Al-Ittihad after just one year in Serie A, Fabrizio Romano relays. The deal is in its final stages. He’ll transfer for €12M after joining for free in 2023.

The Giallorossi have assessed multiple strikers, but the Sevilla star is currently the top option in their shortlist, Il Messaggero relays. He’s on his way out after several years at the club. His price tag isn’t excessive, around €20M, but the competition for his services complicates their plans. José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and Saudi team Al-Qadsiah are on his trail as well and are willing to tender richer wages.
