Roma Forward Heaps Praise on ‘Psychologist’ Mourinho

Uzbekistan forward Eldor Shomurodov has praised new boss Jose Mourinho for helping him settle at Roma.

The 26-year-old, who is currently away on international duty with his national team, bestowed words of kindness for Mourinho in an exclusive interview with championat.asia (via Romapress.net).

Speaking to the website, the versatile forward commented on his quick transfer deal to the Giallorossi and said: “Jose Mourinho spoke first with my agent and then with me. I couldn’t believe the deal was completed so fast.”

He went on to praise the Portuguese tactician, calling him a ‘great psychologist’.

“There is no pressure in working with him. As a team, we all work for the common goal. The first meeting was exciting, now we are like a teacher and his student. He is a great psychologist, it is interesting to work with him. The workouts are really interesting,” he said.

Shomurodov has appeared in four matches for Roma already – scoring one goal and making one assist in a total of 141 playing minutes.

He is touted to support Tammy Abraham upfront, who himself has made a stunning start to life in the capital after arriving from Chelsea.
