Roma Goalkeeper Bound for Sheffield United Move

tjRoma goalkeeper Robin Olsen has been deemed as surplus requirements by Jose Mourinho and the club management, mainly due to the arrival of shotstopper Rui Patricio from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Swedish goalkeeper is being poised to move to Sheffield United in the final hours of the summer transfer window. Ever since moving from Copenhagen in 2018, the 31-year-old has played out just one season in the Italian capital – garnering just 35 caps in total. The rest two seasons has seen him move to Cagliari and Everton – on 2019 and 2020 respectively.

The English club want Olsen to replace Aaron Ramsdale between the posts, as the latter moved to Arsenal in a record transfer earlier in the window. A season-long deal in on the sights of the Blades, with a possible option to buy at the end of the loan term, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The deadline day deal offer by Sheffield United is expected to be accepted by the Giallorossi, who are keen to offload players in a bid to make space in the team and more importantly to save the club’s wages.
