Roma Going After Galatasaray and Atalanta Fullbacks

Roma are looking for a left-back following the switch to a four-man defense and have been linked to Atalanta’s Mitchel Bakker and especially Galatasaray’s Angelino. They have just one pure option at the position, Leonardo Spinazzola, who suffered a quad strain in the past game.

Nicola Zalewski has routinely played on that wing, but rarely in such a defensive role. As a matter of fact, Daniele De Rossi picked right-footed Rasmus Kristensen over the Pole when the starter subbed off.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Dutchman will likely leave Atalanta. He has turned down Torino and Monza and would accept the Giallorossi but things didn’t advance past an inquiry. La Dea paid €10M to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen, and he makes €2.2M annually.

Roma can add Bakker or Angelino only on an initial loan due to their financial restrictions. The Granata have also collected info about the Galatasaray man, Sky informs. The capital club already has an agreement in place on personal terms. He moved to Turkey temporarily from RB Leipzig and featured regularly until the conditions to trigger his obligation to buy were approaching.

He could transfer to Italy with a similar formula with a €5M option to make the deal permanent, Tuttomercatoweb relays.

Our Take on Roma, Bakker, and Angelino

They shouldn’t think short-term since Spinazzola will likely leave in a few months. The latter would be a decent option given his affordable price tag and production in multiple different leagues.
