Roma Great Dubious About Marcos Leonardo Coming Over

Marcos Leonardo was very close to joining Roma last summer, but a few factors stopped him from switching sides. Giallorossi icon Aldair is skeptical the move will come together in the future either, as told Falcao’s son on Instagram (via Sportitalia).

“I don’t think the transfer will happen. He’s very good. There was a lot of chatter last summer. I hope he comes here, but I don’t believe so.”

Marcos Leonardo himself hinted at the Roma transfer in a recent interview with AS (via Corriere dello Sport).

“I feel ready to play in a big club and in a top European championship. I see the other youngsters that already transferred. In August, I was very close to moving. I was presented with an interesting project that I liked. Things didn’t go well in the end, but I’m a professional and will continue to do my best here. This has always been my approach.”

“The national team is always a priority to me, and that was the case in the lower categories too. I’m very proud to defend my country. My goal is to be called up for the next Olympics and especially the World Cup. I know my potential, my approach, and what I can offer on the pitch. I’m on the right path, and I think I’ll achieve this goal. Playing in Europe adds to the resume of any player. But Santos is a great club too. It doesn’t matter where you are. If I do my best, the calls will come.”
