Roma are not getting busy in the January window only in terms of purchases, as they are on the brink of bidding farewell to a few outcasts. Sergio Oliveira has arrived in Italy to take the medicals. The acquisition will soon be official.

The Giallorossi will trim the roster by offloading a few players that have not gotten many minutes. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Gonzalo Villar will join Getafe on a simple loan. Sampdoria and Celta Vigo were in the mix for him too, but Los Azulones won the race. He was also linked to Inter in case Matias Vecino and Stefano Sensi left, which has not happened yet.

Getafe will bring in Borja Mayoral as well. They will add him with the same formula with which Roma got him from Real Madrid, on loan with a €15/20M option to buy. The midfielder did not win over José Mourinho and featured only in European Conference League so far. The striker has played more, as he has logged ten appearances across all competitions, scoring once. But the Portuguese gaffer prefers Felix Afena-Gyan and Eldor Shomurodov to him.

The cull of Roma outcasts will continue over the next few days. Genoa asked for Riccardo Calafiori and appears to have overtaken Cagliari. He would join on a temporary spell, allowing Mohamed Fares to transfer to Torino. Anderlecht and Club Brugge are dueling for Bryan Reynolds. Amadou Diawara is being tracked by Valencia, which are about to sell Daniel Wass to Atletico Madrid, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
