Atalanta and Chelsea Set to Discuss Tammy Abraham Move to Italy

Roma Inches Away From Concluding Deal for Chelsea Striker

It is increasingly likely that Roma will see star striker Edin Dzeko leave the club after the Giallorossi confirmed a fee to bring in Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.

According to reports from various media outlets, including Sky Sports Italy, Chelsea’s intention to hand over Abraham to a foreign team rather than a English rival has seen the Blues part ways with him – subject to the 23-year-old striker’s personal terms of agreement. The transfer fee is in the range of £34m i.e €40m.

Chelsea were the ones to initiate the domino effect, by targeting Inter’s Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian’s impending transfer has nothing but triggered clubs across Italy to search for new strikers on the market.

Abraham, who fell out of favor at Chelsea last season after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, is looking for regular playing time and Mourinho’s Roma would be an apt choice. He ended 2020/21 as Chelsea’s highest goal scorer with 12 goals despite largely not featuring under Tuchel – including being left out of the UEFA Champions League final squad against Manchester City.

Atalanta and Arsenal are also said to be monitoring Abraham’s situation.
