Roma Involved in International Carousel of Fullbacks

Roma are closing in on the acquisition of Angelino from RB Leipzig via Galatasaray, but they have to wait for a domino to finalize the deal. They need to make room by partying ways with a player, but the solution could come from the Turkish side itself, Alfredo Pedullà relays.

Bayern Munich are targeting Sacha Boey. The two clubs are in advanced talks for such a transfer. If it goes through, the Cimbom will consider Zeki Celik as a replacement.

Roma have an agreement in principle with Angelino on personal terms. The one with RB Leipzig, which let him go out on loan last summer, shouldn’t be hard to find. Galatasaray stopped using him to avoid triggering a €6M obligation to buy. Per Gianluca Di Marzio, he has turned down Betis and Marseille to wait for the Serie A team.

Celik moved to the Italian capital in 2022 in a €7M deal from Lille. He has raked up 33 appearances and 3 assists. He hasn’t managed to become a starter despite the weak competition.

Our Take on Roma, Angelino, and Celik

The double move would re-equilibrate their squad. They have three right-backs and one injured left-back since it looks like Daniele De Rossi will use Nicola Zalewski as a winger/attacking midfielder. The hiccups are always just around the corner when there are so many teams and players involved, but it would be a sound and cheap upgrade for the Giallorossi.
