Per Corriere dello Sport, the Algerian international will sign a five-year contract, as confirmed by the club and the player’s camp. He will earn nearly €2M per year including add-ons. The Giallorossi bested Eintracht Frankfurt, Betis Sevilla, and a fellow Serie A rival, Sky informs. Milan and Napoli were rumored to be keen.
Roma chased after Aouar in multiple windows before sealing the deal to sign him on a free transfer, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Lyon had asked for €15/20M when Italian sides came knocking a year ago. His arrival will become official once the outfits will have completed the formalities.
The 24-year-old could replace Georginio Wijnaldum in the squad, La Repubblica informs (va Retesport). The Giallorossi are open to keeping him but not at his current costs. They’d have to pay €8M to buy him out, plus he earns €10M, which they split with PSG this season. He could stay only if he got released and agreed to a new contract with lower wages.

It would have been weird if they didn’t land the plane after he visited the city already. It’s a solid get, and he’s cheaper than the Dutchman, who has been okay when available, but that has rarely happened. The best outcome would be to have both, but they can’t shell out too much money for the ex-Liverpool star given his age and injury history.
