Roma are making strides in their restless effort to purchase the services of the sought-after Sevilla center-forward Youssef En-Nesyri. Daniele De Rossi’s men have agreed on personal terms with the Morocco international, but they’ve yet to find common ground with the Andalusian outfit.
According to Spanish journalist Maximo de la Cruz Ramirez, En-Nesyri has accepted Giallorossi’s four-year contract offer worth €3.5m per season net. Despite finding a crucial breakthrough in talks with the skilled forward, Roma must still convince Sevilla to lower their demands amid Fenerbahce’s attempt to hijack the player’s switch to the Stadio Olimpico.
The Turkish giants have reportedly outmatched Roma’s offer. However, En-Nesyri’s desire to team up with De Rossi’s charges puts Roma in the driver’s seat. The 27-year-old will depart the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the coming weeks, with his current deal at Sevilla running out at the end of next season.
That’s a chance for Roma to close the deal on favorable terms. But if talks with Sevilla go sideways, they could turn to Lille star Jonathan David. As per TMW, they’ve already contacted the Ligue 1 club to discuss the Canadian’s potential move to Serie A. But there’s stiff competition for the sought-after marksman.
Like En-Nesyri, David’s contract runs out in 12 months, narrowing Lille’s options this summer. But the French giants have slapped a €30m asking price for their talismanic striker despite his contractual wobble. Roma will unlikely come anywhere near Lille’s request.
