According to Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi have run into some difficulties for the Empoli starlet. The Tuscan side would only sell him outright and for a worthy bid. They’ll be more than happy to keep him till the end of the season. The capital club doesn’t have much to spend. They need to come up with the right formula to be successful.
Instead, Bernardeschi would be a much easier option, as Roma would just need to come to terms with Toronto FC on how to split his rich wages. He’d have to agree to lower them a little to facilitate the move. The brass isn’t particularly enthused, but they might struggle to find an alternative.
