Roma Leading Milan in Race for Hoffenheim Midfield Talisman

Roma target Florian Grillitsch is reported to be a bit closer to a move to Stadio Olimpico, despite Milan being on his trail. According to reports from Calciomercato, the Giallorossi expect two more signings, in two different roles – for right wing and central midfield roles respectively.

The wing position is said to have a lot of suitors, but however, negotiations for Austrian central midfield maestro Grillitsch are said to have accelerated in the past several weeks. The reports also mention that Grillitsch is said to have ‘confided to some friends that he is convinced that from January he will wear the Roma shirt’.

Hoffenheim are already prepared to lose their midfield talisman to one of Europe’s top clubs.

Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto has already held talks with the player’s entourage. With Grillitsch’s contract expiring in June 2022, many top clubs have expressed their interest in his services.

Milan’s Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have also held talks with the Austrian, but it is Roma who are the frontrunners for his signature.
