Roma Linked to PSG, Atletico Madrid and Atalanta Midfielders

The list of potential options to bolster the Roma midfield in January continues to grow. The Giallorossi identified Denis Zakaria as their top target, but he is highly sought-after. And he might decide to leave his options open and transfer as a free agent next June.

On top of Juventus, the Giallorossi have to deal with a formidable opponent in the race to sign the Borussia Moenchengladbach star since Liverpool are eyeing him too, The Sun reports. The Swiss international was previously rumored to be keen on transferring to the Premier League. It would be challenging for the Serie A sides to measure up with the English ones financially.

Roma are facing competition for Corentin Tolisso too, who might leave Bayern Munich. Atletico Madrid have started to track him, El Gol Digital informs. On the other hand, the Giallorossi are in the mix for Hector Herrera. They already pursued him in the summer, and he has the same agent as José Mourinho.

The new names on the Roma list are Lille’s Xeka, Atalanta’s Remo Freuler, and PSG’s Leandro Paredes, Calciomercato.com and Todofichajes relay. The first two have only a few months left on the contracts with their respective teams. La Dea hold an option to prolong it.

Paredes already played in Roma for two seasons between 2014 and 2017. He has become a fringe contributor at PSG. Mourinho would prefer bringing in an experienced player that could contribute immediately rather than a youngster. Even better if he already possessed previous Serie A experience.
