Roma Loanee Discusses Transfer and Juventus Future

Dean Huijsen is having a solid turn at Roma, but his future will be at Juventus. The Giallorossi would need to arrange a new deal to keep him since they don’t have an option to buy. He dished on it to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Roma don’t have a clause to sign me permanently, but I’ve learned that you never know what could happen in football. The only sure thing is that I’ll go back to Juventus and will be at their disposal. They are the first big team that believed in me. I can only be grateful to them.”

Huijsen examined his January transfer.

“It’s something that doesn’t happen very often. I didn’t dwell on it. This opportunity emerged, and I took it. I don’t know why I wasn’t playing much in Turin. When they offered me to join Roma, I liked the idea a lot because it’s a great club and it’s hard to say no to somebody like José Mourinho. I thought they did it because they needed me. Then, I earned the rest. Every minute on the pitch is the result of hard work and sacrifice.”

The Special One was sacked not long after Huijsen joined.

“I continue to feature, and that’s a good sign. I adapted quickly to the coaching change. They are both exceptional managers and persons. I’m surrounded by great teammates. I’m having fun and learning. We’re in good form. Our goal is obviously to qualify for the Champions League.”
