Roma Make Offers for Torino and Wolves Mainstays, Hopeful on Xhaka

Roma are looking to renovate their backbone and are trying to complete three transfers early in the window. They are pushing to purchase Andrea Belotti, but Torino are driving a hard bargain. The striker has only a year left on his contract and has not engaged in the extension talks to force his way out. The Granata have shrugged at the first bids by the Giallorossi, which were around €15/20M, but they could budge in case of raises, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

President Urbano Cairo did not address the rumors after a recent League’s assembly. He simply stated that he would like Belotti to have a nice Euro and dismissed the buzz. Roma are in the market to find an heir to Edin Dzeko. Zenit forward Sardar Azmoun could be a fallback plan if they did not manage to land Il Gallo, Corriere dello Sport reports.

Roma also continue to search for a new starting goalkeeper. Their preferred target is Wolverhamptons’ Rui Patricio as they want some experience in the role. They offered €7/8M plus add-ons, while the English club asked for €5M more. They are eyeing Olympiakos’ José Sa as a replacement, Sky Sport reports. Both players are represented by José Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes.

The Giallorossi have been after Granit Xhaka for some time, but their initial €15M bid has been rejected. They are hoping the midfielder, who openly said that he likes the destination, will ask the Gunners to let him move to the Italian Capital.
