Roma Making Progress in Attempts to Offload Two Outcasts

Roma are looking to further cut down the roster and are in talks to ship away two more outcasts. After Gonzalo Villar and Borja Mayoral, Amadou Diawara and Carles Perez could leave the Italian Capital as well.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the central midfielder is leaning towards accepting the transfer to Valencia. The 24-year-old would like to have a prominent role at his next stop. Galatasaray and Salernitana are also eyeing him, but Los Murcielagos are currently the frontrunners. They are negotiating a loan move with the Giallorossi. The Italian club demand to attach an €8M option or obligation to buy him at the end of it, though.

Roma are also looking for a new home for Carles Perez. He has drawn interest from his home country. In particular, Cadiz and Mallorca are in the running to bring him in for the next six months. CEO Tiago Pinto wants some reassurances about a permanent purchase in this case as well.

The two Roma outcasts have had a limited role so far. Diawara has collected eight total appearances and just four off-the-bench ones in Serie A. He is currently partaking in the African Cup of Nations. The winger has played more, featuring in 18 matches, where he has scored twice and provided one assist.

The Giallorossi will attempt to add another midfielder if they successfully part ways with the Guinean international. On the other hand, it is unlikely that they will sell Jordan Veretout, even though Tottenham asked for him while discussing Tanguy Ndombélé.
