Roma Outcast Possible Fallback Plan for Milan Defense

Milan are scrambling to find a new defender, and they might get one from Roma, Marash Kumbulla. The Giallorossi need to part ways with one of their players to make room for Angelino. The fullback is already in town for the medicals.

According to Rai’s journalist Paolo Paganini (via OneFootball), the Rossoneri might see the Albanian international as an investment for the future. He didn’t pan out in the Italian capital but was a touted prospect at Verona. He has yet to return following an ACL tear.

On top of Kumbulla, Milan have been recently linked to Merih Demiral, but it won’t be easy to convince Al-Ahli to let him go.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri will keep trying to persuade Arsenal for Jakub Kiwior. The Pole is the top name on their list. They want him on loan with an option to buy.

The Turk, who transferred to Saudi Arabia in a €20M move last summer, would eventually come in temporarily for the next six months. However, he earns €13M, so the salary for even half a season would be substantial.

Our Take on Milan, Kumbulla, Kiwior, and Demiral

The idea probably came more from Roma, which are desperate to offload players. Somebody who hasn’t featured in months, struggled when healthy and is a better fit for a three-man defense doesn’t make sense for the Rossoneri. The former Atalanta and Juventus star would be a better fit but wouldn’t be cheap.
