Roma Player Ratings vs Cremonese: Woeful Giallorossi Display

Cremonese found their first Serie A victory since 1996 after they defeated Roma 2-1 in Cremona on Tuesday night, with the visitors putting in a woeful display. The Giallorossi now sit outside of the top four behind rivals Lazio after the defeat.

Frank Tsadjout gave hosts Cremonese the lead after just 17 minutes of action with a fabulous strike into the top left corner. Jose Mourinho would see red shortly after the second half began and was sent to the stands but Leandro Spinazzola would level the scores with just under 20 minutes to go.

Nevertheless, La Cremo managed to retake the lead after Daniel Ciofani converted from the spot to hand them their first league victory of the season. So, here’s our Roma player ratings for their defeat away to Cremonese.

Roma: (3-4-2-1)

Rui Patricio – 4.5

Couldn’t do much to keep out Tsadjout’s effort with it curling away from him. However, did give away a penalty after bringing down David Okereke in the box, allowing Cremonese to retake the lead.

Gianluca Mancini – 7

Provided the assist for Spinazzola’s equaliser with an excellent lobbed pass from deep. Did okay at the back when called upon.

Marash Kumbulla – 6.5

Won a couple of tackles and interceptions at the back. Looked fairly solid before being replaced with 20 minutes to go in a more offensive move.

Roger Ibanez – 7

Solid in possession and won his duels well. Booked in the second half in protest of the penalty for Cremonese.

Nicola Zalewski – 6

Showed some promising moments at points. Won a few tackles but Emanuele Valeri did cause him some issues down the flank.

Bryan Cristante – 6.5

Looked tidy in possession in the midfield and was excellent in the air. Subbed off for Nemanja Matic.

Georginio Wijnaldum – 6

Had a decent opportunity early on but dragged his shot wide. Looked decent in his duels and tried to drive the play forward in a ball carrier role.

Leonardo Spinazzola – 7.5

Levelled the scoring after streaming in behind the Cremonese defense. Touched the ball down superbly before displaying excellent composure and finishing into the bottom corner.

Paulo Dybala – 5.5

Looked sharp in the opening minutes with some tidy touches. Made a couple of decent passes but didn’t do enough to impact the game. Subpar performance.

Lorenzo Pellegrini – 5

Failed to impact the game at all during his time on the pitch and didn’t do enough in the Roma offense.

Andrea Belotti – 5

Struggled to get anything going up top for the Giallorossi. Almost played Lorenzo Pellegrini in behind early on in the second half but goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi was quick off his line to beat him to it.

Substitutions

Tammy Abraham – 5

Did okay in the air when introduced but didn’t do enough to change the match.

Ola Solbakken – 5

Scarcely involved when he came on.

Stephan El Shaarawy – 5.5

Looked lively when he came on and picked the ball up in some threatening positions. Lacked with his final ball, however, and was booked after kicking the ball away in frustration.

Nemanja Matic – 6

Accurate in possession and looked decent in the midfield in his short time on the pitch.

Rick Karsdorp – N/A
