Roma Player Ratings vs Frosinone: Dybala Assist Brace Steer Giallorossi to Victory

At the Olimpico Stadium in the Italian capital, Roma bounced back with a timely win over Frosinone in the regional Derby. José Mourinho’s men desperately needed a morale-boosting result following their midweek collapse in Genoa. Thankfully for the Giallorossi, Paulo Dybala delivered a couple of assists for Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Pellegrini to seal the deal. So here are our player ratings for Roma who earned a 2-0 win over Frosinone on Sunday night.

Roma (3-4-2-1)

Rui Patricio – 5.5

The Portuguese goalkeeper came out with a clean sheet, but in earnest, he never had a tough save to make all night. Looked shaky and confused on one occasion, almost gifting Marvin Cuni a goal to remember.

Gianluca Mancini – 6.5

An unyielding display from the Italy international who almost won every duel against the Frosinone forwards. Was hardly troubled all evening, showcasing his experience and craftiness on several occasions.

Bryan Cristante – 6.5

The former Atalanta man has arguably been the most steady performer for Roma this season, and in the absence of Chris Smalling and Diego Llorente, he had to switch positions from midfield to the heart of the defense, all without missing a beat. Picked up the attackers with impressive long balls.

Evan Ndicka – 5.5

The German defender is yet to inspire confidence. He allowed Cuni to sneak past him on a couple of occasions. But his performance grew along with the match.

Rick Karsdorp – 6

A solid if unspectacular display from the Dutchman on the right flank. Won his duel against Jaime Baez but was hauled off in the middle of the second half after receiving a booking.

Edoardo Bove – 6

The young midfielder is gradually growing in terms of skills and confidence with every outing. He was happy to make his hands dirty in the battle for the middle of the park.

Leandro Paredes – 6

The woeful Olimpico pitch certainly didn’t suit the passing game of the World Cup winner. But did well to avoid blunders in dangerous areas and tried his best to bring the ball forward.

Leonardo Spinazzola – 5.5

A lukewarm evening for the Euro 2020 hero who doesn’t seem to be in his finest physical shape. Offered little going forward and struggled to contain Matias Soulé.

Paulo Dybala – 7

The former Juventus star seemed exhausted at times, but his physical condition didn’t prevent him from displaying his dashing skills. Picked up Lukaku on the opener with a brilliant one-touch. Also provided the assist for Pellegrini with a lovely set-piece delivery.

Lorenzo Pellegrini – 7

The Roma captain did well to win challenges and keep the ball ticking in the middle of the park. Rounded off a positive evening by netting the second goal from a narrow angle, sealing the match for his team.

Romelu Lukaku – 7

The former Inter star showcased his cool in front of goal by rounding his marker before riffling his shot past Turatti. Tested the Frosinone keeper on another occasion as well. His understanding with Dybala is gradually flourishing.

Substitutes

Rasmus Kristensen – 6

The wingback rarely darted forward, but helped in limiting the danger of Giuseppe Caso on Frosinone’s left flank.

Houssem Aouar – N/A

Sardar Azmoun – N/A
