Roma Ponder Move for Galatasaray Target Maksimovic

Serbian defender Nikola Maksimovic is being linked with a move to Roma after the center-back terminated his four-year contract at Genoa, as per transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla. The Serb has made his intentions known of wanting to stay put in Italy. With that in mind, his representatives have offered him to the Giallorossi.

Roma are considering their options at the moment, given the club’s requirement for a defender. They have been on the search for long, and the offering of Maksimovic to the club paves open an easy avenue to sign a proven defender.

Maksimovic and Genoa canceled his contract on mutual terms following a rather disappointing season in the Ligurian colors. He has spent most of his recent playing career in Serie A, appearing for three consecutive seasons with Torino between 2013 and 2016, after which he spent five years as a fringe player in Napoli.

The versatile center-back is touted to take a decision soon enough, subject to the interest of suitors. Turkish giants Galatasaray are also frontrunners for his signature, having made the first move with an official bid.
