Roma prepare to reinforce their attack with a striker from Portugal as they look to strengthen their Portuguese connection after the arrivals of sporting director Tiago Pinto, coach Jose Mourinho, goalkeeper Rui Patricio and midfielder Sergio Oliveira earlier this season.
Benfica youth product Goncalo Guedes is high on the Giallorossi wishlist for a move in the summer, according to reports from La Repubblica (via VoceGiallorossa). 25-year-old Guedes is experiencing his most prolific season yet at Valencia, scoring 12 goals and registering 5 assists in 32 appearances this season.
A lot of the incoming transfers in the summer will rely on Roma clearing their ranks with outbound players, including midfielder Carles Perez, who is reportedly being touted to be involved in a swap deal for bringing in Guedes.
The 29-time Portuguese capper will see his contract at Mestalla expire in the summer of 2023. Guedes has a transfermarkt value of €30m, making him an affordable target for the Giallorossi.
However, Roma’s plans for the upcoming transfer market is unknown and Tiago Pinto might just convince Guedes to move in the summer.
